But unfortunately, some of our human food can cause a variety of health issues for your cat. Here I will take you through some of our human food which our cat cannot eat.

1. Milk and other Dairy products

From our small age itself, some of us have seen in many cartoons or comic books that cats having affection towards milk and other dairy products. But in reality, they don’t mingle with each other.

When an adult cat drinks milk, the indigestible lactose in its gut may start to ferment, causing a stomach upset. If your cat is lactose intolerant, you’ll know within 8 to 12 hours because they’ll exhibit the symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting, or upset tummy.

2. Chocolate

Chocolate can be lethal for cats. Although most cats won’t eat it on their own, they can be coaxed to eat it by owners and others who think they are giving the cat a treat. The toxic agent in chocolate is theobromine. Eating chocolate can cause abnormal heart rhythm, tremors, seizures, and death.

3. Raw Meat

Raw meat and raw fish, raw eggs, can contain bacteria that cause food poisoning. Also, an enzyme in raw fish destroys thiamine, which is an essential B vitamin for your cat. A lack of thiamine can cause serious neurological problems and lead to convulsions and coma.

4. Cooked Tuna

Cats can be addicted to tuna, whether it’s packed for cats or humans. Some tuna now and then probably won’t hurt. But a steady diet of tuna prepared for humans can lead to malnutrition because it won’t have all the nutrients a cat needs. And, too much tuna can cause mercury poisoning

5. Bones

When we cook fish or chicken (or any other animal with bones), the bones change their composition and become dangerous for cats to eat.

Cats eat bones in the wild, but the bones they eat are uncooked. Uncooked bones don’t generally do any harm. Cooked bones are brittle and splinter and can cause serious damage and death to any animal eating them. However they could (and probably will) pass through without a problem, but cooked bones are dangerous

6.Raw Liver

Small amounts of the liver are Fine, but eating too much liver can cause vitamin A toxicity. This is a serious condition that can affect your cat’s bones. Symptoms include deformed bones, bone growths on the elbows and spine, and osteoporosis. Vitamin A toxicity can also cause death.

7. Grapes, Raisins

Even a small amount of grapes and raisins can cause your cat to become ill — they can even lead to the rapid development of kidney failure. Within 12 hours of ingestion, vomiting sometimes occurs. Although it isn’t clear why, grapes and raisins can cause kidney failure in cats, and even a small amount can make a cat ill.
